Strange experience at Ramlila maidan.....for good!!

One of my friend's friend visited Ramlila grounds in Delhi during the Anna Hazare's protest for Jan-Lokpal bill.  According to him, the experience are totally different, what we normally undergo in any public rally or event.

In normal scenario, in any public gathering, there will be many volunteers moving around and ask for contributions....in fact they will not leave any one with out taking atleast some nominal contribution.  If one volunteer to pay some nominal amount, they will not rest, will start demanding more saying some statistics.  According to me, charity should come from any one's inner feel, not by any force.

Like many of us, who were glued to TV and flipping channels to see who is showing waht?...(I myself was keen on who is showing what rather than what was shown...and finally concluded IBN and 24X7 are pro Govt channels..Times Now was doing their bit for this common cause), this gentle man went to Ramlila grounds.

With good intentions, he approached some of the helpdesk put up there to offer some financial contributions....(Offcourse according to many of us, contribution means its only financial :-)). To his surprise, he was told, they stopped taking contributions as they got the sufficient  numbers....isnt it surprising?? People working in marketing and sales will know the value of numbers and achieving this on time... they sweat hard to make it....

Everyone will agree with me that, we wouldn't have experienced these kind of response from any NGO...even from spiritual entities....like muds and sathsungs.

Now all Govt's intelligence services will be busy in taking survey on pulse of the nation.  You know, the end result will be in favour of all political parties...as the reach of this movement is not so popular in rural India as compared to tier I and tier II cities. So our leaders can sit out and relax...they will not have much problem while facing rural public for next election.

As fellow Indians we all can feel proud for this moment to make the Rulers budge to the demands for the wellfare of the generations to come in our mother land with out any violence. Thanks to Mahathma for setting precedance.

I have seen Lagan poster and during 2004 when Indian cricket team reached world cup finals in South Aftrica, the same Lagan poster was morphed with India cricketers(Ganguly, Sachin, Dravid, Shewag, Srinath.....).  Now I feel like making the same poster with the morphed faces of Anna Hazzare, Arvind Kejirwal, Kiran Bedi, Metha patkar, Prashant Bushan, Shanthi Bushan, Santosh Hegde .....

   ..... to be morphed!!!

I prefer to writie more on this topic...but stopping forcibly to make this post crisp and readable...:-)

(For sure will write sequels  to this).

Playboy Interview: Steven Jobs - 1985 (Extract)

I got to see this interview of Steve Jobs to Playboy magazine in 1984....its really interesting to read this...the lesson is ...always the visionaries will think ahead..no..no  far ahead of normal persons.... I am totally inspired of his thought and foreseeing intellect. here come some of the extract .....Hope you will agree with me.

Playboy: We survived 1984, and computers did not take over the world, though some people might find that hard to believe. If there’s any one individual who can be either blamed or praised for the proliferation of computers, you, the 29-year-old father of the computer revolution, are the prime contender. It has also made you wealthy beyond dreams‑your stock was worth almost a half billion dollars at one point, wasn’t it?

Steven Jobs: I actually lost $250,000,000 in one year when the stock went down. [Laughs]

Playboy: You can laugh about it?

Jobs: I’m not going to let it ruin my life. Isn’t it kind of funny? You know, my main reaction to this money thing is that it’s humorous, all the attention to it, because it’s hardly the most insightful or valuable thing that’s happened to me in the past ten years. But it makes me feel old, sometimes, when I speak at a campus and I find that what students are most in awe of is the fact that I’m a millionaire.

Playboy: Maybe we should pause and get your definition of what a computer is. How do they work?

Jobs: Computers are actually pretty simple. We’re sitting here on a bench in this cafe [for this part of the Interview]. Let’s assume that you understood only the most rudimentary of directions and you asked how to find the rest room. I would have to describe it to you in very specific and precise instructions. I might say, “Scoot sideways two meters off the bench. Stand erect. Lift left foot. Bend left knee until it is horizontal. Extend left foot and shift weight 300 centimeters forward .” and on and on. If you could interpret all those instructions 100 times faster than any other person in this cafe, you would appear to be a magician: You could run over and grab a milk shake and bring it back and set it on the table and snap your fingers, and I’d think you made the milk shake appear, because it was so fast relative to my perception. That’s exactly what a computer does. It takes these very, very simple-minded instructions-”Go fetch a number, add it to this number, put the result there, perceive if it’s greater than this other number”‑but executes them at a rate of, let’s say, 1,000,000 per second. At 1,000,000 per second, the results appear to be magic. That’s a simple explanation, and the point is that people really don’t have to understand how computers work. Most people have no concept of how an automatic transmission works, yet they know how to drive a car. You don’t have to study physics to understand the laws of motion to drive a car. You don’t have to understand any of this stuff to use Macintosh‑but you asked [laughs].

Playboy: Most computers use key strokes to enter instructions, but Macintosh replaces many of them with something called a mouse‑a little box that is rolled around on your desk and guides a pointer on your computer screen. It’s a big change for people used to keyboards. Why the mouse?

Jobs: If I want to tell you there is a spot on your shirt, I’m not going to do it linguistically: “There’s a spot on your shirt 14 centimeters down from the collar and three centimeters to the left of your button.” If you have a spot‑”There!” [He points]‑I’ll point to it. Pointing is a metaphor we all know. We’ve done a lot of studies and tests on that, and it’s much faster to do all kinds of functions, such as cutting and pasting, with a mouse, so it’s not only easier to use but more efficient.

Playboy: We were warned about you: Before this Interview began, someone said we were “about to be snowed by the best.”

Jobs: [Smiling] We’re just enthusiastic about what we do.

Playboy: But considering that enthusiasm, the multimillion-dollar ad campaigns and your own ability to get press coverage, how does the consumer know what’s behind the hype?

Jobs: Ad campaigns are necessary for competition; IBM’s ads are everywhere. But good PR educates people; that’s all it is. You can’t con people in this business. The products speak for themselves

The Ant

         The Ant

One morning I wasted nearly an hour watching a tiny ant carry a huge
feather cross my back terrace. Several times it was confronted by obstacles
in its path and after a momentary pause it would make the necessary detour.

At one point the ant had to negotiate a crack in the concrete about 10mm
wide. After brief contemplation the ant laid the feather over the crack,
walked across it and picked up the feather on the other side then continued
on its way. I was fascinated by the ingenuity of this ant, one of God’s
smallest creatures. It served to reinforce the miracle of creation. Here
was a minute insect, lacking in size yet equipped with a brain to reason,
explore, discover and overcome. But this ant, like the two-legged
co-residents of this planet, also share human failings.

After some time the ant finally reached its destination - a flower bed at
the end of the terrace and a small hole that was the entrance to its
underground home. And it was here that the ant finally met its match. How
could that large feather possibly fit down small hole? Of course it
couldn’t. so the ant, after all this trouble and exercising great
ingenuity, overcoming problems all along the way, just abandoned the
feather and went home.

The ant had not thought the problem through before it began its epic
journey and in the end the feather was nothing more than a burden. Isn’t
life like that!

We worry about our family, we worry about money or the lack of it, we worry
about work, about where we live, about all sorts of things. These are all
burdens - the things we pick up along life’s path and lug them around the
obstacles and over the crevasses that life will bring, only to find that at
the destination they are useless and we can’t take them with us…

                               Good Day

Reading Habit......Gone are the days

Now a days we all addicted to Laptop...computer...Ipad or TV.   Sparingly find time to read books and magazines.  Why so?  here come the reasons...

1. Wikipedia: Number one culprit ....though many positive sides are there for this popular free encyclopedia, this ready reckoner stops us from reading books...(I may be wrong in saying this)

2. Google news:  No need of news paper and periodicals....just type in what ever you prefer to know...will through endless pages as result...you have to be choosy to click the most appropriate url...(you need to be skill full in that)

3. TV : Now we have minimum 20+ news and science channels...no time to flip channels only.. the tough task for channel management to make the viewers stay in one channel for long time.... (tough Job...but still trying best)

Between our busy schedule, where is the time to read books and magazines...but good part is we are helping environment by avoiding papers....so let us be happy about that...Above all I would say though we slowly getting out of reading habits...our information and knowledge levels have increased due to abundant electronic sources of information....

SONY......APPLE....Will Apple's domination continue?

Today Apple's CEO Steve Jobs resigned as CEO....giving way to Tim Cook. Few years back SONY was very popular in entertainment market. SONY was the leader in Walkman, Audio system, TV and so on...but when Apple launched its Ipod...SONY slowly lost its market and today Apple dominating the entertainment market with its Ipod Nano, Ipod touch, Iphone, Imac, Ipad and many more to come. Full credit to Steve Jobs for this success...in fact some days back Apple surpassed Exon Mobile in NASDAQ for the first time. This shows the company's achievement in all front (commercial as well as customer reach).

Its very sad to know that, Steve suffering from Cancer....

Now the biggest challenge to the successor is to keep up the momentum and expectation of customers and Investors. If this is not met, then it will be the start of decline. Already Nokia is brainstorming to regain its smartphone market, Samsung closely marching and trying every possible move to take lead.....

But the end result is, as an end customer we are getting high quality products with latest technology, but definitely not at cheap price!!!!!

Corruption Guinea - Epidemic fever

The Gandhi of 21st Century is fighting for erradication of Corruption.

This move picked up momentum, but looks like the virul cells(Corruption) are strong enough to give a tough fight, and posing a biggest ever threat, in front of this, Terrorism is not so big.

Today the situation is like, for any work to be done from any Government office in the country, the common man is scary to approach the officials or I would say fed up with lousy response we used to get for any request, so middle men are prospering and corruption spreads faster.

From birth to death in India(I mean birth certificate to death certificate) corruption is universal. We are so used to this bribe, that we dont feel that is a crime, it has become part of our life.

In countries like Singapore, if anybody wants to contest election, their candidature will be evaluated by an independent committee, upon committee's recommendation only their nomination will be accepted, they have strong check point at the entry level.

We have our media totally biased and may be corrupt!!!.....they talk 24X7 about and against corruption, but they are selective in choosing the issue....Very pathetic.

Our Parliamentarians are very conscious of parliamentary process and will never go against the protocols (Thats how they sound for passing Jan lokpal bill).

Anna Hazare is sacrificing himself for the welfare of our future generation....Long Live Anna..... We need 1.2 billion Anna's to revive the nation.

Jai Hind.

Down Down Corruption.
