I hope you would have read the last to last post about the mentioned title....
Now I have something interesting about to share....
Few days back I read in news paper that NDTV is launching a new entertainment channel NDTV-imagine, the great KBC famous Sameer Nair will be the CEO....
Coming to the title, The Ramayan serial will be screened in week days in prime time slot (9:00 to 9:30 PM). This seems to be very strange decision and some how very bold in commercial in point...
Why because, The Ramayan is mythological in nature..now a days people are not showing any interest in all these...and the story is well known to all.......this is the view of a common man...but
Our creative CEO gives new perspective and is logical too....
In 1987 The Ramayan was screened in DD, and it became revolutionary in TV industry, those days. The entire India was stalled during 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Sundays.
Now its almost 20 years passed, and for younger generation totally it is new, this new epic will be a cat among pigeons, as all other channels are screening saas-bahu serials like kolangal, selvi.... so this will attract the viewers for a change that too with loads of morals and ethics for life.....
Moreover the number of television homes has increased from 6 million in 1987 to 118 million in 2007, also 560 million indians are <25 years age, so a whole generation has missed the previous one.
...this calculation is very positive and creative....It will be a grand success....
But I am little concerned that..our copy masters (I mean other TV channels) will start the same and similar serial in theirs... (now one can witness this by watching Star vijay, Sun Tv, Kalaigar TV.... if one program is successful, the same will be copied in all without any change)...
but even if they copy such a good serials in theirs....again its good only and spreading high value and good quality of life to the young & Future India.

I was the great fan of mahabharat. I didn't see ramayan. I appreciate the initiation of NDTV. I would like to share about the magazines also. In my school days I used to read siruvarmalar - free with friday dinamalar and ambulimama. At the time they would give good moral stories to the children. I don't think that they are giving the same now also. Everybody should understand that we are not from western countries to change our tradition our culture and moral.Even in europe countries they know very well about where they are from. But we are missing that. Our people should stop watching TV serials which is reducing their imaginary power,self esteem,love on others. Those TV serials create the virtual world that all men are stupids, all other women are brutal except the heroine. We should stop watching and start to digging our history. We should appreciate to watch ramayana, mahabharata, tippu sultan,and so on.
